Adventure returns tonight @ 8pm est with an all new Steven Universe. This week the team comes against a giant foe and Steven urges Amethyst and Pearl to fuse together to form a giant woman. Maybe they’ll do the fusion dance from DBZ. The promo for the episode can be found after the page break. If you’ve been watching CN, then you’ve probably seen it.
Later today we should have another Crewniverse Recap, and of course the episode guide once our on demand video is done baking.
And now for some more updates from the Crewniverse. This week it has been some of the bits and pieces from the previous two new episodes, Steven’s Lion & Tiger Millionaire. There was of course a couple of V-Day cards posted back on Friday.
Steven Universe returns tonight with “Arcade Mania” at 8:45pm EST on Cartoon Network. Please check your local listings as so far the show has been on at 8pm, but according to Zap2it tonight’s episode is at 8:45.
In somewhat unrelated news to StatManDan’s ratings report, it has recently been announced by the NY Times that Turner Network is planning on expanding Adult Swim. [AS] which just turned ten years old is currently holding rank over the other hosts of late night, fetching better viewer ratings than Leno, Letterman, Coco and Stewart & Colbert. Starting March 31st the channel (which piggy backs on Cartoon Network) will begin airing at 8pm est and run to its traditional 6am slot. Sadly I’m sure they’ll fill it with Family Guy and The Cleveland Show (or better American Dad & King of the Hill).
This of course is going to affect CN’s Monday Night lineup, as Steven Universe has been playing at 8pm (though next episode is scheduled for 2/17 @ 8:45pm). It’ll be interesting to see how the show fairs. Thanks to the few people who sent in the news article about AS. And now for your report from StatManDan.
We’ve been dealing with second-lows for many of the shows we’ve covered thus far in the ratings report. This is actually an improvement in this is a “third-low.” “Steven’s Lion” drew 1,512 millon viewers and placed 18th among programming on Cartoon Network. Both are third-lowest in terms of viewership and placement. Adventure Time was once again the top show on CN with 2.213M viewers with Wednesday’s Ninjago taking second and third this week. There was still a significant drop-off when preceded by Regular Show. This week’s was 20%. From Adventure Time, the dropoff was 31.6%.
Well after saying that we’d attempt to get these out asap, we make that wait longer than usual. This week we return with Crewniverse Recap that features the music and backgrounds from “Steven’s Lion”. Additionally since the last recap the crew released some more storyboards to “Tiger Millionaire”. Steven Universe is again on hiatus until February 17th @ 8:45pm est.
Here our expertly concocted ratings report for the episode “Tiger Millionaire,” courtesy StatManDan!
Steven Universe was not consigned with the slumdogs on Janaury 20th. “Tiger Millionaire” drew 1.566 million viewers and placed 15th among all programming on Cartoon Network. It is a 16.3% increase from the previous week’s “Serious Steven.” Monday’s Adventure Time was tops on CN at 2.61M viewers followed by Monday’s showing of The Powerpuff Girls Special (2.057M). Much like Wander Over Yonder on Disney, Steven benefits from being placed in a timeslot near the network’s top shows. Though perhaps a caution flag could be thrown at the fact that the drop off from Adventure Time to Steven was a rather whopping 40%. With Adventure Time and Regular Show being the top two shows on CN, there’s the battle for #3. Right now, Steven is trailing the likes of Gumball and Teen Titans Go!
